What is a curricular internship?
A curricular internship is an experience intended to complete the University education (or from any other institution of higher education: Business schools, technical schools, etc.) of students, by enabling them carrying out practical work in companies, and to obtain the educational credits (ECTS) envisaged in the course structure diagrams for their degree programmes.
What is the meaning of ECTS? The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard means for comparing academic credits, i.e., the "volume of learning based on the defined learning outcomes and their associated workload" for higher education across the European Union and other collaborating European countries.
Academic credits worldwide
In other countries, the academic credits system that is used in Europe and known as ECTS may be referred to by different names such as Credit Hours (USA), Credit Points (Australia), or Créditos Académicos (Peru, Colombia and other Latin American countries), among others.
